Ristorante Filippo

nicoyahogan

Let me start by saying that if you love Italian food…this is the post for you.

So my husband and I went to Ristorante Filippo in Metairie for the first time. I had never heard of this place but trust me, I know now!!! So the ambiance is great. It’s got a classic Italian restaurant feel. Staff is friendly. Feels like family here.

So to drink I had the sparkling champagne by the glass and my husband had Buffalo Trace. They have a good cocktail menu and pretty traditional wine list. There is a full bar for you to choose from as well.

For starters we tried the Calamari, meatballs and the spinach & artichoke soup. The soup was fantastic. So much artichoke and it was so creamy and flavorful and Silky. The calamari was perfectly fried and seasoned. The marinara sauce with it was tasty as well, however, it could’ve been thicker. The meatballs were HUGE!!! Covered in marinara and topped with cheese. Dynamite!! The meatballs were full of flavor and they were so tender.

For our meal we had the Veal Marsala and Pollo Alfredo. Man the portion sizes didn’t disappoint. The Alfredo sauce was creamy and cheesy. The Marsala was perfect! The veal was cooked perfectly. The mushrooms on point!!!! Nothing here fell short of heaven.

The service was so great! I can’t wait to get back to this place. Run…don’t walk to Ristorante Filippo!!!!
